Dialecto Boricua© celebrates the Puerto Rican way of speaking, educating about the history associated with the words and phrases that distinguish us as Spanish speakers. We also warmly welcome people from all over the world who are curious about our vocabulary and expressions.
In our "Linguistic Articles" section, you can find articles or reports on interesting and relevant topics that, in one way or another, affect our communication. In "Word of the Day," we share where words come from, what they mean, and some equivalents for the words we use as part of our daily slang.
Furthermore, "Recommended Reading" links to content generated by other media outlets, which abounds and diversifies the topic we are passionate about: Puerto Rican Spanish.
With these and other tools, you can take pride in your language and learn in an enjoyable and interactive way. And, of course, don't forget to visit our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok pages to become an active part of the Dialecto Boricua community, where we conduct polls, post interesting facts, and discuss our unique language styles daily.
Quote: The National Puerto Rican Day Parade is a symbol of Puerto Rican history, culture, and identity. It is the perfect example of how the Puerto Rican diaspora maintains a close bond with the island, and that we are all one community with common ties. For me, it is an honor to be part of this event that celebrates our essence and our unity as Boricuas.
