Bio
Born in 1979 in Camuy, Puerto Rico, Maribel Delgado is a virtuoso cuatrista celebrated for her mastery of the Puerto Rican Cuatro. Inspired by her grandfather and father, she began playing the instrument at the age of nine. Delgado pursued musical education at the Interamerican University, San Germán Campus, majoring in Classical Guitar. In 2003, she made history as the first woman to release a solo Cuatro album, El Cuatro en Manos de una Mujer, earning accolades from the Senate of Puerto Rico and her hometown of Camuy. She has performed internationally, collaborating with renowned artists and orchestras. As an educator and entrepreneur, Delgado founded Cuatristas.com, pioneering virtual Cuatro education and teaching thousands globally. She currently teaches at the Escuela Libre de Música in San Juan and continues to promote the Cuatro through performances and education.
