Bio
Luis Carle is a Puerto Rican photographer renowned for capturing the essence of the LGBTQ+ community and Puerto Rican culture. Born in Aguadilla in 1961, he relocated to New York City in 1984, where he studied at the School of Visual Arts. Carle's work, characterized by its intimate portrayal of marginalized communities, has been exhibited in prominent museums, including MoMA and Museo del Barrio. As the founder of O.P. Art, he has been instrumental in promoting Puerto Rican artists in New York. Carle's photography continues to shed light on the vibrant narratives of the Puerto Rican diaspora and the LGBTQ+ community.
