Bio
Iluminado Dávila was a master cuatrista from Morovis, Puerto Rico, celebrated for his exceptional skill with the cuatro, a traditional Puerto Rican string instrument. His musical career spanned over eight decades, during which he played with numerous ensembles and contributed significantly to the preservation of Puerto Rican folk music. In 2006, Dávila received the National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, recognizing his artistic excellence and dedication to cultural heritage. His legacy continues to inspire musicians and enthusiasts of Puerto Rican music.
