Hermes Croatto

Hermes Croatto is a Puerto Rican folk music artist with a deep passion for nature, music, and Puerto Rican culture. It was his father, Tony Croatto, also a well-known Puerto Rican folk music artist, who inspired him to pursue music after his passing. Since then, Hermes has dedicated himself to evolving Puerto Rican folklore and bringing it to new audiences beyond the island. His mission drives him to create folk songs with a more modern sound, adapted to today's times.

Hermes has been honored with two Emmy Awards for his role as a producer, thanks to his work on the documentary about his father’s life, “Croatto, la huella de un emigrante”, and the special “Mi San Juan”, produced for the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture.

Quote:

"I am deeply honored to receive the title of 'Hijo de Borinquen' from the National Puerto Rican Day Parade. Being part of such an important event that celebrates our culture and identity is an immense privilege.

For me, connecting with our diaspora —those who carry Puerto Rico in their hearts even from afar— is vital. Events like this strengthen our bonds, keep our heritage alive, and remind us of the pride we share in being Puerto Rican.

I receive this recognition with my heart full of gratitude and joy, and with pride in my commitment to our music and culture.”
