Gilberto Santa Rosa, affectionately known as "El Caballero de la Salsa" (The Gentleman of Salsa), is a distinguished Puerto Rican singer and bandleader celebrated for his contributions to salsa and bolero music. Born on August 21, 1962, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Santa Rosa embarked on his musical journey as a backup singer with the Mario Ortiz Orchestra in 1976. His career flourished as he collaborated with prominent orchestras and eventually established himself as a solo artist. Santa Rosa's discography boasts numerous successful albums, reflecting his versatility and enduring appeal. His exceptional talent has earned him six Grammy Awards and the prestigious Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
