Edgardo Miranda-Rodríguez is a Nuyorican graphic novelist, best known as the creator of the superhero character "La Borinqueña." Born in New Jersey in 1970 and raised in the Bronx, Miranda-Rodríguez has been a prominent figure in the comic book industry, using his platform to address social issues and promote Puerto Rican culture. His creation, "La Borinqueña," is a patriotic symbol and has been featured in collaborations with major comic book heroes to raise funds for hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico. In 2019, he was honored with the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award at San Diego Comic-Con for his philanthropic work.
