Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, in 1975, she gained international fame by winning the title of Miss World, the first time for Puerto Rico.

She started working in New York City as a model for European houses, with prestigious designers like Dior and Yves Saint Laurent in Paris.

In 1983, she married Bruce Forsyth, a legend of the British entertainment world who, in 2011, obtained the title of Sir Bruce, an honour that turned Wilnelia into Lady Forsyth. Their union lasted until Bruce Forsyth's death in August 2017.

Together, they had one son, Jonathan Joseph JJ' Forsyth.

Wilnelia has been involved in philanthropy, and in 1994, she established 'The Wilnelia Merced Forsyth Foundation, aimed at improving healthcare and education for children in Puerto Rico.

Wilnelia has a Bachelor's degree in Humanities with a concentration in Art and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Turabo. Inspired by art, fashion, and beauty, she established her brand "Wilnelia Forsyth London" in 2013.

She currently holds the Miss and Mr World franchise for Puerto Rico. One of her favorite sports is golf, and she is the Vice President of the Variety Golf Club. She also serves as an ambassador for other charities in London.

At the end of 2022, she established the organization "Delia's Respite for Caregivers" for caregivers of Alzheimer's patients, in memory of her parents, both of whom suffered from Alzheimer's.

She has continued to be a public figure, attending various social and charity events, and has been noted for her grace and contributions to society.
