Bio
Allan Villafaña is a seasoned journalist and news anchor, renowned for his contributions to Spanish-language media in the United States. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Villafaña pursued a degree in journalism from The Ohio State University. He began his broadcasting career at WNJU Telemundo 47 in the mid-1990s, later serving as a national correspondent for the Telemundo network and hosting various programs, including “Los Implicados” and “Paparazzi TV” at MegaTV. In 2012, he returned to WNJU Telemundo 47, where he currently anchors the morning newscast “Noticiero 47 Telemundo Primera Edición” and hosts the public affairs program “Enfoque Nueva York.” Villafaña’s dedication to journalism has earned him multiple accolades, including four New York Emmy® Awards and the “Premio de Excelencia Periodística” from the NAHJ. Beyond his professional achievements, he is an advocate for animal adoption and resides with his two dogs, Yoyo and Danny.
