René Pérez Joglar, known professionally as Residente, is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer, songwriter, and filmmaker. Born in Hato Rey in 1978, he co-founded the alternative rap group Calle 13, which gained acclaim for its eclectic musical style and socially conscious lyrics.
