Officially founded in 1818 after meeting the requirements of a population of one thousand residents and the construction of a church and several other public buildings.

Morovis is known for its agricultural products, including coffee, tobacco, and fruits.


Notable People Born Here:

  • lluminado Dávila Medina (1918–2021): Renowned cuatrista (cuatro musician) who contributed significantly to Puerto Rican music.

  • Baltasar Corrada del Río (1935–2018): Prominent politician who served as Resident Commissioner, Mayor of San Juan, Secretary of State, and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.
