Antonio Martorell is a multifaceted Puerto Rican artist whose career spans visual arts, literature, and media. Born in Santurce in 1939, Martorell has become one of Puerto Rico's most celebrated artists, known for his vibrant prints, paintings, and installations that reflect the island's culture and history. Beyond his visual artistry, he has contributed to literature and has been a prominent figure in radio and television. As a resident artist at the Universidad de Puerto Rico in Cayey, Martorell has mentored numerous emerging artists.
